DETAILED ITINERARY
 

Day 01 : Arrive Kolkata

On arrival at the international airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel. Check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 02: Kolkata
In the morning enjoy a memorable sightseeing tour of Kolkata, visiting the Victoria Memorial known for its interesting and architecture, artistic displays of the Raj and unique artifacts. Later visit the famous Kali Temple, dedicated to the goddess Kali. Later drive down the famous Chowringhee Avenue, the wide boulevard with stately mansions on one side and a huge expanse of green on the other, to the New Market, a buzzing bazaar since 1874. Afternoon will be at leisure.

Day 03: Kolkata – Bhubaneswar

After breakfast at the hotel, the day at leisure in Kolkata. Later we drive to the airport to board a timely flight to Bhubaneswar, the ancient city of rock-cut caves and ornate medieval temples. On arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotels. Check in to the hotel and relax.

Day 04: Bhubaneswar
in the morning, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bhubaneswar visiting the fascinating ancient temples of the town. Visit the 7th century Parsurameshwar Temple, a beautiful and lavishly sculpted structure. Exquisite panels detailing processions of elephants and horses and narrations of Hindu mythology adorn the exterior walls as well as its interiors. The 11 th century Raja Rani Temple enclosed within its gardens depicts some of the finest sculptures in Orissan Temple art. Later visit the famous 11 th century Lingaraj Temple, with beautiful sculptures depicting music and dance rituals of that period. Thereafter visit the Mukteshwar Temple, an architectural masterpiece with an ornamental gateway topped by two reclining female figures. We'll also visit the two thousands year-old Udaigiri and Khandagiri Caves, encrusted with sculpture depicting court scenes, lavish processions, hunting expeditions, battle scenes and dances.

Day 05: Bhubaneswar – Puri

In the morning we drive to Puri, visiting enroute Pipli, famous for its colorful traditional appliqué work. The local artisans here produce some exquisite bedspreads, wall hangings and small awnings. Continue drive and take a halt at Raghurajpur where you can watch the local artisans at work on classical Orissan painting, using traditional vibrant color schemes and motifs on lacquered cloth or palm leaf. Arrive at Puri and check into your hotel and relax. After freshening up spend the day by the beach.

Day 06: Puri
Puri is a major pilgrimage site in India, known for its famous Jagannath Temple with a 65 m high intricately sculpted tower. Puri attracts thousands of pilgrims each year from destinations across India and the world. Non-Hindus are prohibited from entering to temple complex, so they can view the temple from a distance only.

Day 07: Puri – Bhubaneswar
In the morning we drive to Bhubaneswar, visiting Konarak enroute to see the ruins of the magnificent 13th century temple with exquisite sculptures of musicians, dancers and erotica. Dedicated to Surya - the Sun God, its piece de resistance is a whole wall sculpted with a massive chariot whose raised platform is supported by 24 intricately carved wheels pulled by seven galloping horses. The wheels carry extraordinary friezes with scenes from battles, elephant processions and even giraffes. Continue drive to Bhubaneswar. Arrive and check into hotel and relax.

Day 08: Bhubaneswar – Kolkata –Departure

In the morning our representative will assist you transfer to airport to board a flight to Kolkata. On arrival our local representative will meet and transfer you to the International Airport to board a flight for your onward journey.
