DETAILED ITINERARY
 

Day 01: Colombo-Kandy
Arrival and transfer to Citadel, Kandy. Afternoon at leisure. In the late evening visit the temple of the tooth relic and thereafter witness a cultural show.

Overnight stay at your hotel in, Kandy.

Day 02: Kandy
After breakfast tour the city of Kandy - the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings. The name Kandy conjures visions of a storied past, splendour, legend, folklore, mystery and traditions lovingly kept alive for countless years. Visit a Gem museum and a lapidary.

Also, visit the botanical gardens in Peradeniya, which was originally the pleasure gardens of the royalty. Nearly 4000 species of plants are found in this garden and it is encircled by the Mahaweli river.

Day 03: Kandy-Nuwara Eliya
After breakfast proceed to Nuwara Eliya, enroute visiting a tea plantation and a factory. Nuwara Eliya is also the heart of Sri Lanka's tea country producing 50% of the world's best tea. Sri Lanka's highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 ft) is located here. Nuwara Eliya is the location for one of the finest 18 hole golf courses in Asia. Check in at your hotel. Evening at leisure.

Day 04: Nuwara Eliya-Hambantota
After breakfast visit Sita Eliya and thereafter proceed to Hambantota/Kataragama. Enroute do a Safari of the Yala National park by Jeep. Yala is the largest national park in Sri Lanka and is the home of wild elephants, wild boar, wild buffalo, leopard, bear, deer and crocodiles. you can also see large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds. Overnight stay at your hotel in Hambantota / Kataragama.


Day 05: Bentota
After breakfast proceed to Galle and do a city tour of Galle, one time chief port of Ceylon. Galle is famous for handmade lace, tortoise shell curios and ebony elephants. Also, visit the 90 acre Galle fort, which was originally founded by the Portuguese and later extended by the Dutch in 1663. The fort houses many important Dutch buildings including a Dutch period museum. Thereafter proceed to Bentota. Enroute turtle hatchery operated by the wild life protection society of sri lanka. several species of turtle, especially the hawksbill, are endangered; most vulnerable of all are their eggs; which are left uncovered on beaches all around the coast. the goodwill of kosgoda area fishermen, who bring these eggs gratis to the hatchery, has led to the hatching and release of 100,000 young turtles in only two years since the hatchery opened.

Day 06: Bentota-Colombo
Breakfast at hotel. Morning at leisure on the beach. In the evening proceed to Colombo and check in at your hotel. In the eveninmg do acity / shopping tour observing the old parliament , the residential areas and the BMICH (Bandaranaike memorial international conference hall) and visit fort. Also, visit the ceramics corporation showroom, majestic city shopping complex, house of fashion and the ODEL unlimited dress boutique.

Overnight stay at your hotel in Colombo.

Day 07: Colombo-Onward Journey

After breakfast proceed to the airport for departure.
