DETAILED ITINERARY
 

Roopkund is situated at a height of 5029m. in the lap of Trishul massif. This is usually called the ' Mystery lake' since human skeletons and remains of horses were found here. The lake, surrounded by rock strewn glaciers and snow clad peaks, is magnificent and enchanting.


Day 1 : Rishikesh

All the participants are requested to assemble at GMVN - Rest House, Muni-Ki-Reti, Rishikesh. Dinner and overnight at TRH, Muni-Ki-Reti, Rishikesh.

Altitude : 356

Description : Rishikesh is the base for Chardham Yatra and gateway of Garhwal Himalayas, Hemkund Sahib and Valley of Flowers.

Local Sites : Triveni Ghat, Laxman Joola, Bharat Mandir, Neelkanth Mahadev.

Day 2 : Rishikesh

13 kms trek to Wan with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight at TRH Wan or in camp.

Day 4 : Bedni Bugyal
12 kms trek to Bedni Bugyal with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight in camp.

Description : -Widely Spread Meadows. One can view Nandaghanti and other Mountains ranges from here

Day 5 : Baggubasa
9 kms trek to Baggubasa with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight in camp.

Altitude : -4667
12 kms trek to Shail Samudra via Roopkund & Jurangali Pass, with packed lunch.Dinner and overnight in camp.

Nandprayag   Day 7 : Chandaniya Ghat
7 kms trek to Homekund and further 7 kms down trek to Chandaniya Ghat, with packed lunch.Dinner and overnight in camp.

Day 8 : Sutole
18 kms trek to Sutole with packed lunch. Dinner and overnight in camp.

Altitude : -2350

Day 9 : Nandprayag
25 kms trek to Ghat with packed lunch. 20 kms drive to Nandprayag. Dinner and overnight at TRH Nandprayag.

Altitude : 914

Description : -At an elevation of 914 meters, picturesque Nandprayag with its hamlet set in the scenic surrounding of the confluence of the Alaknanda, The Nandakini which originates from a Glacier near the Nanda Devi Peak.

Day 10 : Rishikesh

191 kms drive to Rishikesh. Lunch enroute. Arrival Rishikesh.
