Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Cochin - Munnar (160 Km-5 hrs)
On arrival at the Airport/Railway Station in Cochin, you will be met and driven on a fascinating journey to Munnar enjoying the stunning panoramic view of the Cardamom hills & green carpets of tea plantation enroute. Munnar is 1800 mts above sea level and also the place of South India's highest peak (Anamudi- 2695mts). On arrival, check in at Hotel/ Resort. Spend the rest of the day at leisure trekking around the tea estate.
Over Night: Overnight stay at Munnar.
Day 2: Munnar
A morning sight seeing trip of Munnar; visiting the Eravikulam National Park where you can see the very rare mountain goats locally called the Nilgiri Tahr (Hermitragus Hylcrious) -the mountain goat of South India. Visit Mattupetty Dam & Dairy Farm, Old Munnar Town, the town market etc… Rest of the day at leisure and enjoy another> Over Night: Overnight stay at your hotel.
Day 3: Munnar - Thekkady (120 km- 4 hrs)
After breakfast drive down to Periyar/Thekkady and check in at the Hotel/Resort. Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, one of the largest wildlife reserves in India, it occupies 777 sqkms of the Cardamom Hills region of the Western Ghatts. Evening game viewing by the boat in the sanctuary, surrounded by the hills. Wildlife includes elephants, gaur, wild dogs, otters, freshwater tortoise and bird species like heroin, kingfisher, hornbill, water and fishbowls can be seen here. Over Night: Overnight stay at Resort.
Day 4: Departure Thekkady - Cochin (160 km-5 hrs)
Depart as per schedule to the Airport/ Railway station at Cochin for your onward journey.
